Where I Hide with My Pastries at Disney's Beach Club Resort

I have anxiety.

My kids have anxiety.

So naturally, I’ve become very interested in finding the quiet places at Walt Disney World where you can step away, breathe normally again, and remember you’re supposed to be having fun.

Because while I absolutely love Disney World and all the excitement that comes with it...

I am not always such a people person.

Too many people = chaos in my head.

So reluctantly, I am going to share some of my most closely guarded secrets in this little blog space.

Honestly, if you are smart enough to read my stories, you deserve to know them.

One of my favorite escape spots is the Solarium at Disney's Beach Club Resort, located across from the gift shop.

Do not be fooled by the long hallway leading to it.

Before I knew what was waiting at the end, I was too anxious to even walk down there.

It feels a little closed in at first. The tables almost seem too big for the hallway space.

But if you keep going, you’ll discover something glorious.

The scary hallway to paradise!

There is silence.

And cold air.

The space is normally.

The chairs are comfortable and spaced far enough apart that no one is breathing directly on you, which frankly matters.

There are windows everywhere, so the room feels bright and calm instead of crowded.

And best of all?

The TV has a remote control.

You can turn it off.
You can mute it.

Can you believe the remote is just sitting there… waiting for you?

You can create peace with your own two hands.

Now, I should warn you: breakfast time is another story.

People talking loudly.
Kids running around.
General breakfast chaos.

That is not the magical hour.

But later in the day?

Glorious.

This is where I come to sit quietly and enjoy my dessert (or four) from the bakery in France at EPCOT.

Sometimes the best Disney tip isn’t a ride strategy.

Sometimes it’s knowing where to hide.
