Bathroom #45: The Circus Bathroom That Stole the Show... Then Forgot the Little Things

The Story

I love this bathroom.

There.

I said it.

This has been my go-to bathroom in Magic Kingdom for years. If you've ever gone to the parks with me, there is a very good chance I've wandered over here at least once.

It's reliable.

It's clean.

It's usually quiet.

And unlike some bathrooms in Magic Kingdom, it doesn't make my anxiety spike the second I walk through the door.

This bathroom simply works.

But this visit...

Something felt off.

Let's start with why I've always loved it.

The outside is absolutely fantastic.

Disney leaned all the way into the Storybook Circus theme, and I'm so glad they did.

The building looks like a circus tent that decided to settle down and become a permanent brick building.

It sounds strange.

But somehow it's beautiful.

The brick perfectly matches the nearby train station, making everything feel connected instead of looking like someone dropped a random restroom into the middle of the land.

The whole building is wonderfully symmetrical.

The large windows brighten the outside.

The bright red trash cans fit the circus theme perfectly and add little pops of color against the brick.

Even the side of the building is decorated.

Yes...

I'm complimenting the side of a bathroom.

Most bathrooms have a forgotten side that says, "Nothing to see here."

Not this one.

Since Disney uses this area for character meet and greets, they made sure every angle looked finished.

I appreciate that.

It's the kind of tiny detail that most people walk past without noticing.

Then you get closer.

The restroom sign is bright blue.

The walls around the entrance are bright blue.

The companion restroom is bright blue.

Brick and bright blue shouldn't work together.

Yet somehow they absolutely do.

It feels cheerful.

It feels playful.

It feels like a circus.

Then I noticed one of my favorite details.

The doors.

They're wooden farmhouse-style doors.

Not plain commercial metal doors.

Not industrial doors.

Someone sat in a meeting and decided this circus bathroom deserved charming wooden doors.

I love that level of commitment.

Bathroom Details

Location: Storybook Circus, Magic Kingdom

Nearest Landmark: The Barnstormer

Best Time: Morning or early afternoon before Storybook Circus gets busier.

Crowd Level: Moderate. Character meet and greets bring people nearby, but the restroom itself usually isn't crowded.

Inside the Bathroom

Once you step inside...

The circus disappears.

Normally I would be disappointed.

Instead, I found myself smiling.

Because Disney traded themed walls for something even more important.

A really well-designed bathroom.

It's bright.

It's spacious.

Everything flows naturally.

The accessible stalls are located right near the entrance, making them easy to reach.

The lighting is cheerful.

The air conditioning is absolutely glorious.

On a Florida afternoon, that alone deserves applause.

There is even a sign explaining that the toilets use reclaimed water.

I don't know why I enjoy finding those signs so much.

Maybe because it reminds me Disney is thinking about little things most of us never notice.

This bathroom isn't trying to be flashy.

It's trying to be functional.

And it succeeds.

Anything Special?

Now comes the part I wasn't expecting.

I've been using this bathroom for years.

So I know what it normally looks like.

This wasn't it.

One of the sinks was leaking.

Not just dripping.

Leaking.

Someone had placed towels underneath it to catch the water.

I figured a Cast Member would be back with a bucket.

Or close the sink.

Or fix it.

Instead...

The towels stayed there all day.

Then I nearly wiped out because a broom and dustpan had been left sitting beside the mirrors.

I didn't even notice them until my foot caught them.

Crash.

Thankfully, only my dignity was bruised.

I picked them up and set them back where they had been because I honestly had no idea where they were supposed to go.

Then I noticed a Cast Member towel draped across one of the trash cans.

Outside wasn't much better.

The little water play train engine is looking tired.

The paint is fading badly.

It doesn't have that polished Disney sparkle anymore.

I don't know what's going on.

Maybe maintenance has been focused elsewhere.

Maybe there are future plans for Storybook Circus.

Maybe I'm simply noticing things because I've been visiting this bathroom for so many years.

Whatever the reason...

This area feels neglected.

And that's disappointing.

Because someone spent a lot of time designing one of the prettiest bathrooms in Magic Kingdom.

The brick.

The blue walls.

The circus colors.

The windows.

The farmhouse doors.

Every detail was chosen for a reason.

It deserves maintenance that matches the creativity.

The Official Ruling

Situation: Calm during my visit with plenty of room, although character meet and greets nearby can make the area feel busier.

Cold Air: Fantastic. The air conditioning is one of the best parts of this bathroom.

Stall Situation: Excellent. Spacious stalls with a smart layout and accessible stalls right near the entrance.

Paper Situation: Standard Disney paper.

Flush Situation: Standard.

Noise Level: Surprisingly quiet for Storybook Circus.

Smell: No problems during my visit.

Handwashing Area: Spacious and easy to navigate, although one leaking sink had towels piled underneath it.

Decor: Outstanding on the outside with wonderful circus theming. Inside is clean, bright, and modern, even if the circus theme doesn't continue indoors.

Companion Restroom: Yes.

Overall Comfort: One of my favorite bathrooms in Magic Kingdom. The thoughtful design still shines, but the recent lack of upkeep keeps it from being a perfect ten.

Final Verdict

I still love this bathroom.

I'll probably keep using it every single time I visit Magic Kingdom.

But this trip left me feeling a little sad.

Not because Disney designed a bad bathroom.

Quite the opposite.

They designed one of the best.

It just feels like the spotlight has drifted somewhere else.

And this wonderful little circus bathroom is patiently waiting backstage for someone to remember how special it really is.
