Bathrooms Matter

Because where you go matters. And where you go matters, too.

Yes.

I review bathrooms.

Not because I have run out of things to talk about.

Because bathrooms actually matter.

Especially when you travel.

I want to know where they are. How crowded they get. Whether they're clean. If there's a companion restroom. How loud they are. Whether there's somewhere to sit nearby.

I want to know if the automatic flusher is going to attack before I'm ready.

I want to know if the air conditioning is glorious.

And yes...

I want to know how it smells.

These are the details that can make a place easier, more comfortable and a whole lot less stressful.

So I photograph the signs.

I inspect the sinks.

I count the stalls.

I notice the little things.

And then I tell you everything.

Welcome to Bathroom Matters.

Let's find a bathroom.

Choose Your Bathroom Adventure

There are a surprising number of ways to fall down this particular rabbit hole.

Pick a bathroom world and start exploring.

๐Ÿฐ The Great Disney Bathroom Quest

It started with one bathroom.

Now I'm trying to find, photograph and review the bathrooms throughout Walt Disney World.

Parks. Resorts. Restaurants. Transportation. Hidden bathrooms. Beautiful bathrooms. Bathrooms that desperately need someone to love them.

I'm looking at all of it.

๐ŸŒŽ Universal Bathrooms

Universal has given me an entirely new collection of bathrooms to investigate.

Universal Studios. Islands of Adventure. Epic Universe. Resorts. Restaurants. CityWalk.

If there's a Universal bathroom, eventually I'm probably going to find it.

I'm exploring them one restroom at a time, looking at location, crowds, comfort, accessibility, theming and all those wonderfully little details most people walk right past.

๐Ÿšฝ Random Restroom Adventures

Because apparently I don't stop reviewing bathrooms when I leave the theme parks.

Hotels. Restaurants. Cruise ships. Road trips. Random places I wander into.

If there's a bathroom worth talking about, there's a very good chance I'm going to talk about it.

What Makes a Bathroom Matter?

I don't just walk into a bathroom, take a picture and declare it pretty.

There is a system.

Sort of.

Every bathroom gets the full Maggie inspection.

๐Ÿ“ Location
Can I actually find it when I need it?

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Crowds
Peaceful pit stop or bathroom battle royale?

โ„๏ธ Cold Air
This is Florida. Air conditioning matters.

๐Ÿšฝ Stalls & Flushers
How many stalls are there? And is the automatic flusher going to attack before I'm ready?

๐Ÿ”Š Noise
Quiet and calm or sensory chaos?

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Smell
Someone has to talk about it.

๐Ÿงผ Cleanliness & Handwashing
Sinks, soap, counters and the general state of things.

โ™ฟ Accessibility & Companion Restrooms
What's available and what should you know before you get there?

โœจ Theming & Weird Little Details
Signs. Tile. Wallpaper. Mirrors. Hidden Mickeys. Things that make absolutely no sense.

โค๏ธ Overall Comfort
Because sometimes the most important question is simply...

Would I want to use this bathroom again?

Bathrooms Matter

They can make us comfortable.

They can make us anxious.

They can make a crowded day a little easier.

And every once in a while...

they can be surprisingly magical.

I'll keep looking.
