Bathroom #52: The Gateway to Disney... and a Very Bad Bathroom
The Story
The Great Disney Bathroom Quest has taken me to some strange places.
Tiny bathrooms.
Beautiful bathrooms.
Bathrooms with identity crises.
But this was the first one that genuinely caught me off guard.
I visited the TTC on June 16 at 9:00 a.m. The first restroom I explored was the west-side bathroom.
The moment I walked inside, I froze.
Someone had covered nearly every available surface with PETA stickers.
They were on mirrors.
They were on paper towel dispensers.
They were everywhere.
I'm only showing two of them because the others were disturbing enough that I didn't even want to photograph them.
I immediately started looking for a Cast Member, but there wasn't one nearby.
Meanwhile, families were filing into the restroom.
Parents were helping little kids wash their hands.
Everyone was excited to begin their Disney day.
It felt incredibly out of place.
The first thing that upset me was that someone would come to Disney and deliberately deface the property.
Bathrooms are supposed to be a quiet stop before the adventure begins.
Not a billboard for someone else's message.
The second thing that surprised me was that the stickers were still there.
I have no idea how long they'd been sitting on the mirrors and dispensers.
Maybe only minutes.
Maybe longer.
Either way, it was too long.
I genuinely hope a Cast Member found them shortly after my visit because those stickers had absolutely no business being there.
Now...
Let's talk about the bathroom itself.
This is the TTC West restroom because, naturally, it's on the west side of the Transportation and Ticket Center.
It's located near the Polynesian walking path, the Ferryboats to Magic Kingdom, and the Monorails.
In other words...
Everyone walks past this bathroom.
And everyone seems to use it.
Unfortunately, this restroom makes a terrible first impression.
It smells.
Not just a little.
It has a strong sewer-like odor that greets you before anything else does.
The Florida heat doesn't help.
The doors stay wide open, so the hot, humid air pours inside all day.
Instead of feeling cool and refreshing before entering the parks, it feels warm, stuffy, and unpleasant.
Then there's the design.
Or...the complete lack of one.
This might be the plainest bathroom I've found during the Great Disney Bathroom Quest.
Even the restroom outside EPCOT has more personality.
Inside, the walls are mostly white tile with a single stripe of color.
The men's room has blue and teal accents.
The women's room has pink and teal.
That's it.
No storytelling.
No fun details.
No Disney magic.
It's especially disappointing because this is where so many vacations begin.
You're about to board a ferry across Seven Seas Lagoon or step onto one of Disney's iconic monorails.
That first moment should feel exciting.
Instead, you're greeted by a bathroom that feels forgotten.
The restroom itself is large, and during my visit it was clean, aside from the vandalism.
There wasn't a companion restroom that I noticed.
By the time I walked out, I was honestly disappointed.
Not just because of the smell.
Not just because the bathroom was bland.
But because it felt neglected enough that someone thought covering it with stickers was acceptable.
Thankfully...
There was still one more TTC restroom to visit.
Surely the east side would be better.
Right?

Decor: Almost nonexistent. Simple colored tile stripes and little Disney theming.
Companion Restroom: None noticed
Overall Comfort: Disappointing start to the Disney day
Final Verdict
The TTC West restroom feels like a missed opportunity.
This is where thousands of Disney vacations begin every single day, yet the bathroom is hot, plain, smelly, and completely forgettable.
Add in the vandalism I encountered, and it became one of the most disappointing restrooms I've visited so far.
Here's hoping the east side tells a happier story.
