Remy Would Not Approve: Bathroom #29

The outside is just okay.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

That is the only appropriate way to start this review.

Because this bathroom experience was not a peaceful little stroll through France.

This was not Remy carefully adding the perfect amount of seasoning.

This was not a beautifully organized kitchen where everyone knows their job and everything works together.

No.

This was the part in Ratatouille where everyone is running around the kitchen.

Pots are flying.

People are yelling.

Someone is definitely burning the soup.

Pure chaos.

And my anxiety?

My anxiety grabbed a tiny chef hat and joined right in.

Because getting to this bathroom and being inside this bathroom was stressful.

Crowds.

People.

More crowds.

People everywhere.

And I mean everywhere.

I know I sound dramatic.

I know I sound like I am rambling.

But this bathroom surprised me.

Because here’s the thing…

I have used this bathroom before.

And I liked it.

I actually walked into this review thinking this bathroom was going to score really well.

I thought Remy was going to proudly stand on top of his little Paris rooftop and applaud.

Instead…

Remy shook his tiny head in disappointment.

Now, I am going back soon to observe it again because maybe this was just a bad day.

Maybe it was because it was park opening.

Maybe everyone was rushing to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Maybe everyone suddenly decided they needed a crepe.

Maybe all of EPCOT decided to visit France at the exact same moment.

Who knows?

But this experience?

Ugh.

The Location

The first challenge is actually getting to the bathroom.

The walkway is beautiful; the crowds made it difficult to enjoy,

You have to walk down the same pathway as everyone heading to Remy.

Which means you are swimming upstream through a sea of excited people.

The good news?

The area itself is adorable.

You get to see the Ratatouille sign.

You get the beautiful France expansion.

You get the little details that make Disney feel like Disney.

The bathroom is located on the left-hand side, all the way toward the back.

And then you see the building.

And…

It’s cute.

The water fountain is pretty.

This spot reminded me that I am in the France pavilion.

The lights are charming.

But I wanted more.

This is France.

This is Remy.

This is the place where a tiny rat convinced us that cooking soup by pulling someone’s hair made perfect sense.

Disney could have had so much fun here.

Instead?

The building doesn’t scream France.

It doesn’t even whisper France.

It quietly says…

“Hello. I am a restroom.”

Even the restroom sign is easy to miss.

The restroom sign is high up. Even though I liked the colors, the sign is boring.

The companion bathroom entrance?

Plain.

Just blah!

Remy would have added a little flavor.

Inside the Bathroom

The bathroom itself is small.

Thankfully, Disney did create two sides, which helps with the crowds.

In theory.

There are even signs that show which stalls are vacant.

Great idea.

Love the idea.

Chef’s kiss.

Except…

No one was paying attention to them.

So instead of things flowing smoothly, there was a giant line that really didn’t need to exist.

It was crowded.

It was loud.

It was stressful.

I honestly could not wait to leave.

There was a Cast Member working hard and cleaning.

And I appreciate that.

But because the bathroom is small and the crowds were so intense, every little mess felt bigger.

Like dropping one tiny ingredient into the wrong recipe and suddenly the entire dish tastes wrong.

Anything Special?

The outside area.

The France expansion really is beautiful.

The fountain.

The lights.

The little Paris details around you.

Being inside the bathroom?

Not so lovely.

Final Verdict

This bathroom had all the ingredients to be amazing.

A beautiful location.

A fun theme.

A chance to add a little Remy magic.

But on this visit, the recipe just didn’t come together.

Too many people.

Too much chaos.

Too much stress.

Maybe next time this bathroom will redeem itself.

Maybe Remy will fix the recipe.

But for today?

The little chef would not approve. 🐀
