The Story
Finally! A Hollywood Studios bathroom that looks different on the inside!
Let me explain.
The first three bathrooms I visited inside Hollywood Studios all looked completely different on the outside.
Different buildings. Different entrances. Different personalities.
But once I walked inside?
THEY WERE ALL THE SAME.
Same layout. Same tiles. Same everything.
Spooky, right?
I was beginning to think Disney had one bathroom design and a very enthusiastic copy-and-paste button.
But then I found this bathroom.
And everything changed.
Well, almost everything.
This bathroom is located near the Disney Villains show.
The bathroom near the Muppet’s rollercoaster was closed for renovations during my visit.
So this was the closest available option.
And right away, I knew something was different.
First, I had to walk through some very large, slightly intimidating doors.
Were we allowed in here?
Was this a bathroom?
Was I accidentally entering a backstage area where I would be politely escorted out by a Cast Member?
I had questions.
But the doors were open.
And there was a bathroom sign.
So naturally, I walked in.
For research purposes, of course.
Inside was a large, spacious lobby.
It had that strange feeling of a place that hadn't been used in a while.
Not abandoned.
Not creepy.
Just a little forgotten.
The companion restroom was on the left.
And I immediately loved it.
A beautiful sign! A bold red door!
Finally, some bathroom personality!
Then I tried the door.
Oh, dear.
It was HEAVY.
And it swung outward.
I had trouble maneuvering it myself.
How was someone using a wheelchair supposed to manage this door?
Or a parent pushing a stroller?
I stood there trying to figure out how anyone who needed this restroom was supposed to get inside without an extra set of hands.
I couldn't figure it out.
A companion restroom should make life easier. Not require a wrestling match with a red door.
At least there were accessible stalls inside the regular bathrooms.
The men's and women's restrooms were on the right side of the lobby.
And once again, I loved the signage.
Big. Bold. Easy to read.
No guessing which door to enter.
Always appreciated.
Then I walked inside.
And I was delighted.
THIS was what I imagined a Hollywood Studios bathroom should look like!
Black and white.
Chic.
Modern, but with a touch of Old Hollywood glamour.
It actually felt like it belonged in Hollywood Studios.
The air conditioning worked.
The bathroom was spacious.
And it was clean.
A Cast Member had just finished cleaning and was leaving as I arrived.
Wonderful!
I was ready to declare this bathroom a winner.
And then...
THE PETA STICKERS RETURNED.
Remember those stickers I found at the Transportation and Ticket Center?
Well, apparently they decided to visit Hollywood Studios.
And they brought friends.
There was a sticker right on the caution sign.
You know, the sign that basically says, "Please don't slip, fall, and sue us."
The sticker was impossible to miss.
And the Cast Member had just walked right past it.
Then I started looking around.
Big mistake.
On the backs of some stall doors, there was sticky residue where stickers had been removed.
And those strange little cubbyholes?
I still don't know what they were supposed to be used for.
But apparently someone thought they were excellent places for stickers.
Now, I understand that Disney cannot control every person who decides to decorate a bathroom with unwanted stickers.
And I am certainly not blaming Disney for people behaving badly.
But I do expect Disney to remove the mess.
Especially when a Cast Member has just finished cleaning.
And now I am annoyed.
Not a little annoyed.
Very annoyed.
Because Walt Disney World tickets are expensive.
Really expensive.
And when people spend that kind of money, I think they deserve bathrooms that are clean, maintained, and free of graffiti.
Is that asking too much?
If Disney isn't paying attention to something as obvious as stickers on bathroom doors, what else is being overlooked?
I know.
I know.
It's just stickers.
But to me, it's about taking pride in the little things.
And bathrooms matter.
Okay. I'll climb down from my little step stool now.
Lecture over.
Back to the bathroom.
Because underneath all those stickers was actually a really beautiful restroom.
And that makes the whole situation even more frustrating.
The Details
Location: Disney's Hollywood Studios, near the Disney Villains show
Nearest Landmark: Disney Villains show
Best Time to Visit: When you're in this area of the park and need a restroom. It felt quieter than the main entrance bathrooms during my visit.
Crowd Level: Low during my visit. The large lobby felt almost forgotten.
Anything Special: A spacious entrance lobby, beautiful Old Hollywood-inspired black-and-white design, bold restroom signage, and a companion restroom with a very heavy red door.
The Official Ruling
Situation: A hidden-feeling restroom near the Disney Villains show. You enter through large doors into a spacious lobby, with the companion restroom on the left and the men's and women's restrooms on the right.
Cold Air: Yes! The air conditioning was working beautifully. A very important bathroom achievement in Florida.
Stall Situation: Accessible stalls were available in the main restrooms. Unfortunately, some stall doors had sticker residue on the backs.
Paper Situation: No paper problems noted during this visit.
Flush Situation: No memorable flushing problems. Which is a good thing. I have enough bathroom drama.
Noise Level: Quiet during my visit. A welcome change from some of the busier Hollywood Studios bathrooms.
Smell: No unpleasant smells noticed.
Handwashing Area: Clean and coordinated with the beautiful black-and-white bathroom design.
Decor: My favorite part! Chic black-and-white details with an Old Hollywood feeling. Finally, a Hollywood Studios bathroom that doesn't look like the other three!
Companion Restroom: Yes, located on the left side of the lobby. I loved the bold sign and beautiful red door. Unfortunately, the door was extremely heavy and swung outward, making it awkward to open. I have serious concerns about how someone using a wheelchair or pushing a stroller could manage it independently.
Overall Comfort: The air conditioning, spacious layout, and beautiful design made this a very comfortable bathroom. But the heavy companion restroom door and multiple PETA stickers were disappointing.
Final Verdict
Oh, Hollywood Studios. You were so close.
I wanted to love this bathroom.
And in many ways, I did.
It was spacious.
It was cool.
It was beautiful.
It had personality!
It was everything I wanted after visiting three Hollywood Studios bathrooms that looked suspiciously identical.
But then there was that companion restroom door.
And those stickers.
So many stickers.
I really hope Disney gives this restroom a little extra attention.
Because underneath those problems is one of the prettiest bathrooms I've found at Hollywood Studios.
And it deserves better.
So do the guests.
Clearly Maggie's Official Verdict: Old Hollywood glamour with a side of sticker frustration.
And the Great Disney Bathroom Quest continues.
Will the next Hollywood Studios bathroom be another copy-and-paste creation?
Will I find more stickers?
Will I ever encounter a companion restroom door that doesn't require upper-body strength?
Stay tuned and follow along with The Great Disney Bathroom Quest
Apparently, I have a lot of unfinished bathroom business.
