I have officially found the funniest bathrooms.
Yes. Bathrooms.
And I have visited a LOT of bathrooms.
But these?
These bathrooms made me burst out laughing.
Out loud.
In a public restroom.
Which, as you can imagine, earned me some very strange looks.
I could practically hear people thinking, Why is that woman laughing in the bathroom?
A perfectly reasonable question.
But I couldn't help myself.
The signs. The pictures. The decorations.
They are absolutely hilarious.
Two Bathrooms. Twice the Entertainment.
There are two bathrooms in the How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk section of Universal Epic Universe.
And both of them are hilarious.
I never thought I would use the word hilarious to describe a bathroom.
Yet here we are.
This is where my life has taken me.
And I regret nothing.
Some of the signs and decorations are the same in both bathrooms.
Others are completely different.
Which means you really do need to visit both.
For research purposes, of course.
But the absolute stars of both bathrooms?
The murals behind the sinks.
I cannot even begin to explain how much I love these murals.
They are funny. They are clever. They are full of personality.
And they make washing your hands a much more entertaining experience.
Which is not something I usually say.
Is the Bathroom Layout Perfect? Nope.
Now, before I get completely carried away with my love of these bathrooms, I do have a few thoughts about the actual design.
Because, unfortunately, I am still me.
And I notice these things.
The layout doesn't flow quite as nicely as some of the other Epic Universe bathrooms.
The sink area feels a little cramped.
There are two sinks together, then a space, and then two more sinks.
It is an unusual arrangement.
And the baby-changing area is off to the side instead of being tucked away in a front corner.
Not my favorite setup.
Normally, I would have many thoughts about this.
Possibly an entire paragraph.
Maybe two.
But you know what? I don't care.
There. I said it.
The woman who has dedicated an alarming amount of her life to reviewing bathrooms is willing to overlook a questionable sink arrangement.
That is how much I love these decorations.
Let's Compare the Two Bathrooms!
Because these bathrooms have some similarities and some very funny differences, I thought it would be fun to look at them side by side.
And yes, I took this assignment very seriously.
As seriously as one can take an assignment involving funny bathroom pictures.
Bathroom #1: Near the Isle of Berk Portal
This is the first bathroom you will encounter when you enter the How to Train Your Dragon section through the portal.
Bathroom #2: Toward the Back of Isle of Berk
The second bathroom is located farther into the land, toward the back on the right-hand side.
Both are worth visiting.
Both have wonderful surprises.
And both made me laugh.
So let's take a closer look at what makes each one so special.
Because apparently, I now have favorite bathroom jokes.
And I am perfectly fine with that.
You know you are in for a good time when even the restroom symbols are wearing Viking hats.
Even the person in the wheelchair has one!
Nobody is being left out of the Viking festivities
I love that both bathroom entrances look completely different, yet somehow they both fit perfectly into the Isle of Berk.
Same Viking world. Different personalities.
And I especially love the men's and women's signs above the restroom sign at Bathroom #2.
Her hair! His beard!
Same signs. Same awesome Viking vibes.
And the signage is wonderfully clear, so there is no confusion about where anyone needs to go.
But can we please talk about the Viking family?
I absolutely adore them.
Even the little one is wearing a Viking hat!
A tiny Viking hat!
I cannot handle this level of cuteness.
Someone actually sat down and decided that the entire family needed Viking hats.
This is exactly why I love these bathrooms so much. Even the practical signs have personality.
And then there are the caution signs.
Different colors in each bathroom, but the same wonderful picture.
Featuring a big, bad Viking.
Who has apparently fallen down.
And can't get up.
I am sorry, but this absolutely cracks me up.
Here is this big, tough Viking.
Flat on his back.
I know. I know.
I probably shouldn't be laughing at a caution sign.
But I did.
A lot.
And now I am laughing again just thinking about it.
The work closet in Bathroom #1 got a little Viking humor.
Because apparently, no door is too boring to decorate.
And I love that.
Someone could have just left it as a plain old work closet.
But no.
And I appreciate their dedication to making absolutely everything entertaining.
And this is the mural behind the sinks in Bathroom #1.
I absolutely love it.
All the Vikings are yelling at the dragons.
Well, except for the first Viking.
Why is he holding an umbrella?
What does he know that the other Vikings don't?
Is he expecting dragon drool?
Or some other mysterious liquid?
Should everyone else be holding umbrellas too?
And can we please talk about the Viking who is blowing fire?
Why is HE blowing fire?
Isn't that the dragon's job?
I have so many questions.
And absolutely no answers.
But I love every ridiculous inch of this mural.
It is so much fun to look at while washing your hands.
In fact, I might have washed my hands a little longer than necessary.
There was a lot to investigate.
And now we come to the mural in Bathroom #2.
Which has my absolute favorite thing in all of the How to Train Your Dragon bathrooms.
There is this majestic dragon carrying a bunch of Vikings on his back.
It reminds me of a commuter bus.
Everyone sitting quietly in their seats.
Just another normal day commuting to work.
But that isn't even the funniest part.
Look at the poor guy on the ground!
He has a tiny broom and a bucket.
And it looks like his job is to clean up the dragon poop.
Can you imagine?
Everyone else gets to ride around on a magnificent dragon.
And this poor Viking gets poop duty.
With a broom.
And a bucket.
That is a LOT of dragon poop.
I am sorry, but this absolutely cracks me up.
I know. I know.
I am 54 years old.
I should probably be more mature.
But bathroom humor always gets me.
And now we have bathroom humor.
In an actual bathroom.
See what I did there?
I am very pleased with myself.
So there you have it.
Two bathrooms. Two different entrances. Viking hats everywhere. A Viking who has fallen and can't get up. A mysterious umbrella. A dragon commuter bus. And one very unfortunate Viking on poop duty.
I don't think I have ever laughed this much while visiting a bathroom.
Are the layouts perfect?
Nope.
Do I care?
Not even a little.
Because these bathrooms made me happy.
And isn't that wonderful?
Someone took something as ordinary as a bathroom and turned it into something funny, whimsical, and completely memorable.
This is why I keep saying bathroom design is an art form.
And why I keep dragging my family into bathrooms to look at the decorations.
I am 54 years old, and apparently, a Viking with a poop bucket is all it takes to make my day.
I regret nothing.
