Did You Know? Disney Cruise Line Has FREE Pastries!
Did you know?
On the Disney Dream, Fantasy, Wonder, and Magic, there's something absolutely wonderful waiting for you at Cove Café and at Vista Café.
FREE PASTRIES!
Yes. Free.
As in absolutely, positively, gloriously FREE.
Now, the amazing coffee? You have to pay for that.
But those delicious little pastries sitting in the display case?
Not a penny.
And I have made it my personal responsibility to appreciate them.
Especially the dark chocolate Rice Krispies treats.
Oh, those wonderful little squares of chocolate happiness.
I adore them.
Actually, I probably eat more of them than I should.
But I'm on vacation, so we're not discussing that.
One of my favorite things to do on a Disney cruise is wander into Cove Café, the adults-only coffee lounge, order a double espresso, and admire the pastry display.
And then comes the difficult part.
Choosing.
Because I want that one.
And definitely that one.
And obviously the chocolate one.
So what do I do?
I ask for all of them.
And the wonderful Disney Cruise Line crew members don't even bat an eye.
They simply smile and happily fill my plate.
No judgment.
Just a woman, her double espresso, and a completely reasonable amount of free desserts.
The treats are generally the same across all four ships, so I can continue my little pastry tradition wherever I sail.
And here's something else you should know.
If you're staying inside Cove Café, your pastries arrive on a plate.
Very civilized.
Very sophisticated.
Look at me, being a proper grown-up.
But if you're heading outside to sit by the pool, they'll tuck your treats into a little paper bag.
Which is perfect because sometimes I want to relax in the quiet of Cove Café.
And sometimes I want to sit by the pool with a bag full of chocolate.
Both are excellent life choices.
Now, at some point during the evening, the pastries disappear and are replaced with olives, cheese, and breadsticks.
Also free!
Which is lovely.
But personally, I'll take the chocolate.
My Final Thoughts?
Some people cruise for the entertainment.
Some people cruise for the beautiful ocean views.
Me?
I'm also here for the free pastries.
And I regret absolutely nothing.
🚢 Clearly Maggie's Advice
When you're exploring your Disney cruise ship, make sure you find Cove Café and Vista Café.
You don't need to purchase a fancy coffee to enjoy the complimentary treats. You can simply stop in and ask for a pastry.
Or three.
I'm certainly not judging.
Just remember that the selection changes in the evening, so if you have your heart set on something chocolatey, don't wait until bedtime.
And if you're traveling with children, remember that Cove Café is adults-only. Vista Café on Deck 4 may be a better option for a family pastry adventure.
It's one of those little Disney Cruise Line extras that can be easy to overlook if you don't know it's there.
And now you know.
Free pastries. Excellent coffee. A quiet place to sit.
Sometimes the best cruise discoveries don't require a reservation, a shore excursion, or even your Key to the World card.
Just a plate.
Preferably a very full one.
