Four Tuesdays. One Pizza. Zero Regrets. Summer House on the Lake
Four weeks.
Four Tuesdays.
Four lunches at Summer House on the Lake at Disney Springs.
In. A. Row.
With all the scrumptious restaurants at Disney Springs, why would Dave and I keep going back to the same restaurant every Tuesday?
And ordering the exact same thing?
One word.
Pizza.
More specifically...
The Hobbs Pepperoni Pizza.
I dream about this pizza.
I think about this pizza.
Apparently, I write entire stories about this pizza.
It is THAT good.
The crust is perfect.
Crispy and a little hard on the outside.
Soft and chewy on the inside.
Exactly how pizza crust should behave.
And the toppings?
Just the right amount.
Not so much cheese that everything slides off when you pick up a slice.
Not so little that you feel betrayed.
Perfect.
The Hobbs Pepperoni comes with mozzarella, parmesan, tomato sauce, and, obviously, pepperoni.
It is $21.95 and available during lunch and dinner.
Please notice that I said lunch and dinner.
Because a couple of times we forgot and wandered into Summer House during brunch.
There is no pizza during brunch.
No.
Pizza.
This was a crisis.
We considered our options.
We mourned.
And then we stayed.
Because we were already sitting down and apparently we are capable of adapting to adversity.
The brunch is okay.
We ordered the Breakfast Tostada and Breakfast Burrito.
Just a warning...
The servers will tell you that Summer House is a scratch kitchen and many dishes can be adjusted.
The Breakfast Burrito is apparently not interested in participating in this flexibility.
You get what you get.
And you don't get upset.
Anyway...
Back to my four glorious Tuesdays of pizza bliss.
Because the pizza isn't even the entire reason we kept going back.
There is also...
THE SALAD.
The salad of my dreams.
The salad that makes other salads look down at their lettuce and question every decision they've ever made.
The Buena Vista Cobb.
There is absolutely no need to add chicken.
Or shrimp.
Or anything.
Leave perfection alone.
The Buena Vista Cobb comes with avocado, egg, corn, cucumber, tomato, bacon, blue cheese, and herb vinaigrette.
It is $20.95 and available during brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Unlike SOME menu items.
🍕👀
I always order the bacon and dressing on the side.
And I am not ashamed to admit...
I have licked the little bowl the bacon came in.
There.
I said it.
Judge me if you must.
That bacon bowl didn't stand a chance.
The pizza and salad together are the perfect lunch.
One Tuesday, however, we got adventurous.
We decided to turn our beautiful little duo into a trio.
I know.
Why mess with happiness?
But we did.
We ordered the Signature Guacamole for $19.95.
The chips were good.
The three salsas that came with it were good.
The guacamole?
Strangely...
It tasted like absolutely nothing.
Not bad.
Not good.
Just...
Guacamole-shaped silence.
Very confusing.
So we learned our lesson.
We don't need a trio.
We already found the stars of Summer House.
The Hobbs Pepperoni Pizza.
And the Buena Vista Cobb.
Four Tuesdays.
Four identical lunches.
Zero regrets.
And now that I have written an entire story about them, I am ridiculously hungry.
I think another Tuesday trip to Summer House might be necessary.
For research purposes, obviously.
Clearly, I'm Still Hungry!
I travel for the experiences. I stay for the food. And occasionally, I plan an entire day around a particular dessert.
